This was recorded in late December 1968 I think between Xmas and New Year. It was then broadcast on January 4th 1969, the day before Jimi Hendrix's infamous appearance on Lulu's show. It is definitely one of Trevor Burton's final TV appearances with The Move. Not sure of the precise date he left but it was either late January or early February since Rick Price had replaced him by February.
This is a superb show and one wishes pop TV could be like this now... no annoying egocentric presenters (stand up Mr Holland!) nor trivial and patronising onscreen captions... just song after glorious song. No frills. And a brilliant band in action! |
