3. Prize(s):

a. One (1) winner will receive the following prize (the “Prize”):

• Roundtrip Air Fare for Two (2) People;
• Two (2) Nights Stay at the Westin at The Domain;
• Transportation between the hotel and SXSW grounds; and
• Two (2) VIP Tickets for The Stone Temple Pilots.

b. Approximate Retail Value (”ARV”) of Prize: $2500.00. Actual retail value of the Prize may vary. If the prize includes travel and winner cannot travel on the dates required to attend the Event, winner will forfeit the Prize in its entirety and Sponsors may, at their option, either select a second place winner in his or her place or be relieved of liability for fulfillment of the Prize. Winner is responsible for any expenses not expressly included in the Prize description, such as additional ground transportation expenses, incidentals, meals, beverages and any other expenses.

c. Certain restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.

4. General:

a. Employees, directors and officers of Sponsors, their parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising or promotional agencies, and their immediate family members and/or those living in same household are not eligible.

b. No substitution or transfer of prize permitted except as provided herein. Prizes are non-redeemable for cash. In the event of unavailability, Sponsor may substitute a prize of greater or equal value.

c. All federal, state, and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner, who will receive an IRS Form 1099 reflecting the final actual value of any prize valued at $600 or more. Consult with your tax professional regarding potential tax implications.

d. Potential finalists must execute Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability Form(s) within 10 days of notification. Has it been your lifelong wish to become a member of the Smashing Pumpkins? Billy Corgan is back in the business of making dreams come true, announcing the band will hold auditions to find a new bassist and keyboardist for his ever-changing lineup. Last year Corgan held auditions to replace drummer Jimmy Chamberlin and ultimately hired young musician Mike Byrne. Musicians interested in the two new open slots are being asked to e-mail a resume and performance clips to either pumpkinsbass@gmail.com or pumpkinskeys@gmail.com. A note to perspective keyboardists: Corgan says he’s looking for someone with a prog-rock background, a la Yes’ Rick Wakeman, so maybe familiarize yourself with Tales from Topographic Oceans.

Though Corgan and Chamberlain offer differing accounts of the latter’s exit — Corgan tells Rolling Stone he axed the drummer in our new issue — no drama led to this new round of lineup changes. Current bassist Ginger Pooley is a new mom and wants to raise her baby off the road, while Electric Prunes bassist Mark Tulin, who has been playing with Corgan since their Spirits in the Sky project, will stay onboard until a new permanent member is found. “We were lucky enough to find drummer Mike Byrne through an open audition process,” Corgan said in a press release, “so why not open the doors again to anyone who might be interested for the bass or keyboard position. As you can see from our past and present, age, race, or a person’s background is not an issue. Everyone is truly welcome to audition.”

In addition to the casting call, the Smashing Pumpkins promise to announce a brand new world tour in the near future. As evidenced by Rolling Stone’s new interview with Billy Corgan, the frontman will have no shortage of things to talk about on the road. Plus, with only three of the planned 44 songs off Teargarden by Kaleidyscope released, prospective applicants can leave a sizable imprint on Corgan’s massive undertaking. All submissions are due March 31st.

You’ve already feasted your eyes on MGMT’s WTF album cover for their upcoming album Congratulations, and now you can hear what the band’s been cooking up for their April 13th LP with “Flash Delirium.” MGMT unveiled the track a free download on their Who Is MGMT? site today. The adventurous song — MGMT seem to pack four distinct parts into four minutes — is a bit of departure from the band’s Oracular Spectacular songs, scaling back on its predecessor’s electro-bop for a song that sounds similar to Deerhunter in its first half and Zombies in its second.

“Some will love it, some will hate it,” Andrew VanWyngarden told Rolling Stone of Congratulations‘ stylistic shift in our Spring Music Preview. “We want to freak people out.” This first song does just that, and it takes multiple listens to grapple with the track’s constant curveballs. “Flash Delirium” ultimately keeps building until it explodes into a rapturous harmony, breaking into full-out thrash in its waning seconds. The song’s message: “Dance until the heart explodes and we’ll make this place ignite.”

Early peeks at The Runaways, music video vet Floria Sigismondi’s biopic about the rise and fall of the iconic Seventies girl-punk band, have provided fast-and-dirty looks at the drama surrounding Joan Jett (played by Twilight star Kristen Stewart) and Cherie Currie (Dakota Fanning). In Rolling Stone’s latest exclusive clip, Stella Maeve as Sandy West and Stewart bang out some raw rehearsal tunes as manager Kim Fowley (Michael Shannon) listens on the other end of the phone and offers a few words of encouragement when Stewart reports they’ve been busy practicing: “Well, get back to it, you bitches are going to be bigger than the Beatles!”

It was one of the videos that helped put YouTube on the map — and one of the most-watched viral music videos ever — but despite its fame, Saturday Night Live stars Chris Parnell and Andy Samberg had never performed their Narnia ode “Lazy Sunday” in front of a live audience. That is, until last night on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. With Parnell sitting on Fallon’s couch, Samberg literally came out of nowhere and offered to help recreate the digital short live. Fallon’s house band the Roots pumped out the ’80s hip-hop beats and the duo ripped through lyrics about cupcakes, Google Maps, Red Vines and Matthew Perry.

The “Lazy Sunday” reunion is just the latest musical triumph for Fallon, who previously scored big viral views for his “Neil Young” renditions of “Pants on the Ground” and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme, as well as the return of Zack Morris. Considering Samberg and Fallon both spend their workdays in Rockefeller Center, the “Lazy Sunday” reunion opens up a whole bunch of potential big performances on Fallon. Our first handful of requests: Samberg and Timberlake getting together for a medley of “Dick in a Box” and “Motherlover,” or Rihanna stopping by for a “Shy Ronnie” redux, and all of it backed by the Roots.

Rolling Stone is pleased to present the video premiere of Yeasayer’s infectious new single “O.N.E.,” one of the many highlights off the band’s second album Odd Blood. The clip reunites Yeasayer with the directing duo Radical Friend, or Kirby McClure and Julia Grigorian, who previously helmed the Breaking band’s clip for “Ambling Alp.” In “O.N.E.,” we’re transported to the strangest warehouse rave party on the planet, where the shape-shifting protagonist engages in strange board games in front of an audience filled with Gagas while Yeasayer perform in the background.

According to the band, the odd game that our hero partakes in, which looks sort of like the board game Sorry with glass pieces, is based on “actual mystical charts and diagrams that represent the psychological warfare these otherworldly club kids engage in.” Definition: The day-glo video for “O.N.E.” is as much candy for the eyes as pleasant on the ears.

As part of this year’s Record Store Day on April 17th, Yeasayer will release a 12” single for “O.N.E.” boasting four different takes on the song: the album version, an instrumental take, a demo of the track and a remix by XXXchange. It took seven long years for the Flaming Lips’ Wayne Coyne to make his oddball sci-fi flick Christmas on Mars, but the frontman tells Billboard he’s already behind the camera working on his next film. While the new movie is decidedly more down-to-earth than Christmas on Mars — instead of building UFO sets for each scene, the majority of this film will be shot at a nearby slaughterhouse — Coyne does have one astronomical dream for this new flick: to get Justin Timberlake to appear in it.

Whereas Christmas on Mars featured the Lips themselves in the main roles, Coyne says this time around he’s going to try to recruit some professionals, and some big name professionals at that. “I’m gonna try to get real actors, too,” he reveals, “celebrities to show up and have fun with us for a couple of nights. I’m in the process of begging Justin Timberlake to be part of it; if I’m lucky I’ll be able to wear him down in another year.” Coyne has proven his ability to recruit famous friends to appear on camera, as Christmas featured cameos by actor Adam Goldberg, Blue’s Clues‘ Steve Burns, SNL’s Fred Armisen and, in a scene cut from the film, Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock.

In addition to working on his latest film, as Rolling Stone previously reported, Flaming Lips will perform their version of Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon at this year’s Bonnaroo festival. The Lips will also launch a tour this Friday, March 12th with a pair of shows in Texas before heading out east in April.

After spending the second half of 2009 recovering from salivary gland cancer, the Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch made an appearance at the Independent Spirit Awards last week to represent The Messengers, a film distributed by his Oscilloscope Laboratories. The MC told EW’s Music Mix he’s feeling significantly better and “getting my energy back” after the medical treatments, but Beastie fans might have to wait a bit longer for the group’s new disc Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1. “It was really disappointing to have to hold the record and postpone the tour, but doctor’s orders. We may or may not [release Hot Sauce Committee Pt. 1] depending on how my health is come September. We want to but we have to play it by ear,” Yauch said.

As Rolling Stone reported in December, Yauch previously said that the album would likely arrive in early 2010. Yauch told EW that since the album was recorded well over a year ago — it was initially slated to come out September 15th, 2009 — the Beasties will likely listen to the album again and decide if they want to do any late-game editing. “We want to take a look at it and re-evaluate and make sure it is what we want to put out there and that we are still happy with it. I don’t think we will change it up too much,” Yauch said.

The Beastie Boys were forced to cancel headlining performances at Lollapalooza, All Points West and Austin City Limits, as well as push back Hot Sauce, after Yauch revealed in July 2009 that he needed to undergo treatment for cancer in the Parotid gland in his neck. “I’m feeling healthy, strong and hopeful that I’ve beaten this thing, but of course time will tell,” Yauch wrote in an e-mail to fans in October 2009.
